Tour Tunisia by Car Rental

Tunisia is one of those enchanting North African countries whose history is popular. You’ll be interested to know that it is located directly south of Italy.

Why visit Tunisia?

What makes Tunisia a great tourist destination is the history it holds. Tunisia hosts numerous ancient structures and architecture that tell tales of the people that had taken over Tunisia, but were later driven out by wars that occurred. The deserts and dunes of Tunisia are also a major tourist’s attraction.

What to see

There are four places you should not leave without visiting. The first is Monastrir; a town with numerous ancient structures. Actually, it was inhibited by Phonecia who left when they lost the battle. These structures take you back to the times of Alexander the Great and the stories of battles he engaged in. Secondly, there is also the well maintained architecture of Sousse that dates back to hundreds, maybe even thousands, of years ago. The desert of Tozeur is a place that seems imagined with all its oasis villages dotting the area. You should also visit Carthage- a town from where you can buy various Arab antics.

How you will get there

There are international airports in Tunisia which should make it easy for you to jet into the country.  You could also take the ferries that come from Italy and be in awe of the view as you leave Italy especially at sunset. It is also possible to get there by road, but of course from neighboring countries.

What you will need to be allowed in to the country

When getting in to the country, you will need a valid passport as well as a visa. The country receives many visitors throughout the year.

Accommodation

Due to the number of tourists that visit Tunisia, there are unlimited places to stay in during your visit. There numerous five star hotels in the country and also many guest houses that are much cheaper. In Tunisia, you can also find Furnished Apartments for rent that may be expensive, but definitely worth it considering the lavishness of the apartments.

Travelling around the country by car hire or public transport

Tunisia is a relatively small country therefore you will rarely find people using air planes to explore it. The most common form of transport is road. There are buses to take you to the most common tourist sites but, you might want to go deeper into the country hence it’s not the best means of transport. This is where car hire would come in handy for you. You can access the car rental companies in the country and secure a car. There are also cheap car hire services that you might find economical if you are operating on a tight budget.  With car hire, you do not have to stick to someone else’s schedule as you have the liberty to drive at your most convenient time. However, before hiring a car, you need to get conversant with the driving rules in the country to avoid get into trouble with the authorities.
